People love novelty… Basically, if it’s harmlessly out of the ordinary – people are into it. Right in line with this is a funny “holiday” just for today… Every year on September 19th, there’s a little-known holiday called: Talk Like A Pirate Day.

…What you do on this holiday is pretty self-explanatory.

They like to experience new things, hear new jokes, see new movies… They like when things are different and fresh, when the day to day is broken up by a pleasant surprise that shakes up the routine…

But think of this in terms of your business… If your usual customers came through the door to find your staff in pirate garb and treasure chests on the counters, saying “yar” and referring to everyone as a “landlubber,” do you think they would take notice?

Of course they would.

In fact, they would probably tell their friends about it, take pictures, and send tweets…

Even get a few laughs!

But Talk Like A Pirate Day is just one of the countless ways to break away from the status quo and introduce a little novelty in the lives of your customers and prospects.

All it takes is a little creativity and the willingness to step outside of the box… and you can make a huge difference in the way people interact with (and remember) your company!

Every month, we update the Insiders’ Club Members’ Area with an “Economic Opportunities Calendar” for this exact reason. The Calendar is chock-full of monthly and weekly observances, funny holidays, national “awareness” days, and more…

All of these are reasons to do something different… to hold a sale or a special offer, to decorate your storefront, to host a charity event, to partner with another business… There are plenty of ideas for you to run with.

People like to be entertained, and they tend to be attracted to “what’s new” (even if it’s just new to them… or new that day), and tend to ignore “what’s old.”

So, it’s up to you to give them a reason to be entertained…

When you give your customers a reason to take notice… they will with enthusiasm.

In your corner,

Charlie
