Amazon’s proposed drone shipping is the big news of the day… And with good reason. They’re consistently at the front of the pack when it comes to innovation…

But let’s back up a minute.

I’ve said it plenty of times… but at the risk of sounding like a broken record, here it is again:

The purpose of business is to provide the greatest advantage and benefit to the customer, client, or patient to get them closer to the ultimate result they are after.

This mindset is called The Growth Factor™ – and many companies have employed this strategy to “wow” their customers with customer service, create out-of-the-ordinary guarantees, offer an exceptional resource of information, etc.

But Amazon is leaps and bounds ahead of the curve.

And, arguably, it’s this focus on what we call The Growth Factor™ – that keeps Amazon.com on top as the dominating force in e-commerce.

Think about it – there’s a reason why 78% of US Adults with an annual household income of $75,000 (or more) shopped at Amazon over the past 12 months! (Source: Shullman Research Center 4/30/2013)

And why their stock is reaching yet another all-time high today.

We can learn a lot from this giant!

The company is already well known for their 2-day shipping options, exceptional online customer purchase experience, one-click purchase options, Amazon Prime (if you’re a member, you know how awesome it really is!), and recently made headlines when they partnered with the U.S. Postal Service to offer package delivery on Sunday…

When people shop online, they want instant gratification and, well… Amazon knows it.

The company is making it a top priority to get packages to customers as quickly as possible, and that’s just the kind of “advantage” I’m always talking about!

When people order stuff online, the upside is shopping from the comfort of home – the downside is waiting for it to arrive. With a clear understanding of the downsides of their business, Amazon is making huge strides in closing that gap – but none quite so revolutionary as their most recent announcement: Amazon Prime Air – same day delivery with airborne drones.

Yes, that’s right. Drones.

While it’s still in early stages of development, this is just the kind of novel idea that boosts the advantage the company can offer to its customers – and gets people talking!

Copywriting expert and Insiders’ Club Member Tom Trush also pointed out something else that speaks volumes about Amazon’s savvy marketing department…

The announcement came on Cyber Monday, a day when all online retailers are trying to drive customers on to their website but… thinking strategically… Amazon released this news, driving the spotlight away from their competitors and straight to Amazon…

Brilliant!

Not only does this give people another reason to talk about Amazon, it also sets up their current customers to have something awesome to look forward to (bringing their business back in the future).

This is the kind of innovative thinking that helps keep them ahead of the pack, and puts the company name in headlines time and time again. They’re taking their notoriously great service and still looking for ways to make it even better.

Pretty incredible, right?

In your corner,

Charlie
