Ep #122 – In today’s podcast episode, I’m joined by Mark E. Watson III, an investor, entrepreneur, and philanthropist, as well as the founder and chairman at Aquila Capital Partners.
Mark has been investing in innovative companies and helping to grow businesses for more than 30 years.
In the 1990s, he founded Aquila Capital Partners to back talented founders creating transformational companies. Among those early investments was Argo Group (NYSE: ARGO), a startup in the specialty underwriting sector.
Mark would become the CEO of Argo in 2000, when the company was a regional, $300 million underwriter business nearing insolvency. Twenty years later, Argo is now a thriving public company with 10 times more revenue, clients in 60 countries, and thousands of new jobs created.
Today, Mark is fully dedicated to Aquila Capital Partners. He chooses to take a collaborative approach to investing, and seeks to back promising entrepreneurs who are building companies that will shape the world for generations to come.
